Micah Czigan is the Chief Information Security Officer at Georgetown University, where he leads efforts to protect the university’s data, systems, and community while preserving academic freedom. Since joining Georgetown in 2020, he has strengthened the institution’s cybersecurity posture by focusing on privacy, risk management, and resilience.

Before joining Georgetown, Micah held senior cybersecurity roles in government and industry, including as Director of Defensive Cyber Operations at Symantec and as Associate Deputy CISO at the U.S. Department of Energy. A U.S. Navy veteran and former Cryptologic Communications Specialist, he earned the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Micah holds a Master of Information Systems Management from the University of Phoenix.
